What a great quote! I'm constantly telling the teachers at my center that we are to model the behaviors we wish to see. Even though we may not realize it, many of the children we teach look at their teachers and think, "I want to be just like them." So I too love your anonymous author's quote, and I will share it with the teachers I know.
This is so true!! My babies I work with in Early Head Start are constantly imitating me, thier classmates, other teachers, pretty much anyone around them! My supervisor tells me all the time that I have to be a model for the behavior I want to see in my children. This is exactly why!
I agree with this quote and it is something I abide by. Children are the future and if we want a bright future for children and the world, we need to imitate a variety of things for them to learn. It's so amazing because they are great imitators and what they see is what they do.
